Medical Equipment Loaner Program
The Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse maintains donated medical equipment items that are available for use by all residents of Sun Lakes, free of charge. All of these donated items are cleaned and repaired by Community Posse members. Each item of donated medical equipment is labeled with a silver and black inventory sticker and its identifying number is then entered into a specialized database for tracking purposes.
This highly successful program began in 1995, when the Sun Lakes Fire Department experienced storage problems caused by the high volume of donated medical equipment items they had received. The Sun Lakes Fire Department and the Sun Lakes Sheriff's Posse agreed that the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse's Office, at 9531 E Riggs Road, should serve as the central location for these donated items.
Since 1995, the number of donated medical equipment items has steadily increased. For example, during 2006, the number of medical items distributed throughout the Sun Lakes community tallied at over 3,000. And, donated medical equipment items are still being received, almost on a daily basis!

- Metal Canes - Height Adjustable
- Metal Walkers - With and Without Wheels
- Bedside Potty Chairs
- Bath and Shower Seats (Stools)
- Rolling Companion Chairs
- Wheel Chairs
If you need to use any of these medical equipment items, please visit the Sun Lakes Sheriff’s Posse's Office during the hours shown below. Our Community Posse members will help assess your specific equipment needs. They will also ensure that you are fully comfortable with the operation of any item(s) selected before you leave our facility.
All items of medical equipment are loaned out to the residents of Sun Lakes on a "first come, first served” basis and this service is always offered free of charge. The initial loan period is 90 days. Extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We request that you contact the Sun Lakes Sheriff's Posse prior to the end of the first 90 days, if such an extension is needed.
